Failure is something that is absolutely not for us. Anything linked with failure such as depression, low self-esteem, bankruptcy, reoccurring health challenges or even failed marriages has been broken. We have no connection anymore with it. In all these things, whatever it may be called, however it may look, whenever it may come, we have overcome them all.

Romans 8:37 (KJV)

37  Nay, IN ALL THESE THINGS we are MORE THAN CONQUERORS through him that loved us.

All those statements of why am I unemployed? Why am I always falling sick? Why is my prayer for others not working? They have been answered. Our Father in heaven has told us that we are more than conquerors. Imagine yourself having conquered a land. What do you do after the conquest? You begin to enjoy the spoils you have taken. Be it gold, land or people. A more than a conqueror is someone who is living out his victory. He is living out his divine health, he is living out his divine riches, he is living out his divine wisdom, he is living out his divine power.

People have made statements as if we are going to fight and through the fighting we are going to have victory. It may sound alright or purposeful but is just not what our heavenly father told us. He told us that the warfare is over. He did not say that the battle is over but the war we were in is over.

Isaiah 40:1-2 (KJV)

1  Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.

2  Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, THAT HER WARFARE IS ACCOMPLISHED, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD’S hand double for all her sins.

Everything failure or defeat was fully represented by sin. The Lord declared war on sin and his last act of the war was when he placed all of our sins on his son Jesus. This brought an end to failure. Everything necessary for our victory has been done. God expects a victory mentality from us for it is more than our right. It is our birthright.

Experiencing failure or a setback does not mean that you have failed. Some people do not know what failure is. Failure is not falling down, it is accepting that you deserve to stay on the ground. We do not fail because of the opposition but rather due to our disposition. One person reasons that since he is coming from a poor home, he cannot be rich or financially stable. When you give in to any reality in opposition to the reality of Christ Jesus, you are heading for a life of regret. You have refused to take advantage of your victory in Christ Jesus and the devil will step over you making sure that you do not rise and see who you truly are.

How do we take advantage of this victory? Firstly, we must know where it is and from there begin to release it in our everyday activities and every aspect of our lives. So where is this victory coming from? For us to live it out, it must be coming out from somewhere. The victory is inside our spirit. When God says he has blessed us with all spiritual blessings, victory is there. The blessing is not out there stored in a physical place. Due to it being spiritual, it is stored in a spiritual place. So it is not that we are going to get a victory but that we already have the victory.

How do we release it from our spirit to be seen evidently by everyone? It is released by speaking forth the blessings of God.

Philemon 1:6 (KJV)

6  That the communication of thy faith may become effectual BY THE ACKNOWLEDGING OF EVERY GOOD THING WHICH IS IN YOU IN CHRIST JESUS.

We command and control what we believe with words. Not just any words but speaking what Christ has done for us and in us. We need to get this aspect of the power of words right. When a wife for example has shouted and insulted her husband saying he cannot achieve or do anything right. This lady may be asked later why she did such a thing and she will say “I am just speaking my mind”. Just speaking your mind? This lady probably believes that those words she spoke are just expressions of how she feels and it ends there. People fail to understand that words have power. Failing to understand this is like trying to diffuse a ticking bomb with no training or experience in how a bomb works. It will explode causing destruction you cannot comprehend. Words have the power to bring freedom or bring bondage.

Proverbs 18:21 (KJV)

21  DEATH AND LIFE ARE IN THE POWER OF THE TONGUE: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

This is a powerful truth which most of us tend to forget and forgo due to issues in life. Look at the scripture above, if you would notice, it says “death and life”. There is no middle ground. You cannot say something and then say I did not mean it.

Do you know that everything God created was with words? If what we speak brings life or death, then it can also work in the reverse. What we hear as well will bring life into our lives or it will bring a damaging effect in our lives. For us to speak right, you have to hear right. You cannot be listening constantly to all the bad happenings on the news and still be hopeful of a better future. You cannot be spending most of your time watching soap operas that all they promote is adultery, scandal, greed, power, revenge and you still think that you can produce love, forgiveness or even a healthy relationship with your spouse. Those words will affect you. That is why for us to keep on speaking life giving words; we must be hearing life giving words as well. You cannot be hearing poverty and all things related to it and expect to speak wealth. That is why when we feed on God’s word, we will have strength to speak life giving words and be victorious.

Once you begin to notice that you are feeling weak, prayer is a problem, your vision of a great future is becoming blurry and you are having a hard time doing what you know God wants you to do then check what you are feeding on. It is either you are not feeding on the word or you are feeding more on something else other than God’s word. Victory is in the cycle of Hearing Gods word and speaking God’s word.
