There is a link between the mouth and prosperity. There is also a link between the mouth and poverty. What they both have in common is that it starts from the mouth. The good news is that everyone irrespective of your status, you have a mouth and what you do with it matter.

Joshua 1:8 talks about how to make yourself prosperous and it starts with this statement “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth..” Bible in Basic English puts it this way “Let this book of the law be ever on your lips and in your thoughts day and night…” What this means is that let your primary language that comes out of your mouth be the word of God.

The words on the pages of your bible are inactive and are no good to you if you do not know how to activate it to change your life. Putting scriptures all-around your house, in your office or even your car will do no good if you do not know how to weaponise it to get results. The primary way to activate the power in scriptures is by speaking it.

Certainty

You must speak it with certainty. “To have faith is to be sure of the things we hope for, to be certain of the things we cannot see” (Hebrews 11:1 GNT). There is no mixing of words here. The word of God is truth and must be spoken that way. Facts change but truth does not therefore when we speak, we should not change our words.

Israel dealt with facts and they said: “We were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.” (Numbers 13:33 KJV). All that believed this statement died and never entered the promise land. David dealt with truths. Goliath had all the advantages based on facts. “He had an helmet of brass upon his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail; and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of brass. And he had greaves of brass upon his legs, and a target of brass between his shoulders. And the staff of his spear was like a weaver’s beam; and his spear’s head weighed six hundred shekels of iron: and one bearing a shield went before him” (1 Samuel 17:5-7 KJV). David won in the end. The truth of God’s word made every fact irrelevant instantly. If you want victory and prosperity deal with the truth of God’s word. Speak it without accepting doubts projected by the facts.

Consistency

You must speak it consistently. It is not about how many times you say it. It is about not giving up on these words. It should be attached to your emotions. It should be attached to your thought life. If someone could read your mind, let your mind and your mouth be saying the same thing.

When a believer renews their mind with the word of God, it is so that your mind will be in agreement with your spirit. This means that your mind and spirit are saying the same thing. This is what brings transformation. To be prosperous, your thought life and spoken life must be one with God’s word.

Do you know that meditation means to speak or to ponder with oneself loudly? Therefore if you are not meditating on the word, you cannot keep speaking it. If you are not delighting in it, you cannot be prosperous. (Psalm 1:1-3 KJV)

Correlating Action

You must speak it with correlating action. The woman with the issue of blood said: “If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.” (Matthew 9:21 KJV). She acted on what she said. She went through the crowd, touched Jesus and ended twelve (12) years of sickness. Many years have people wasted in the belief that they are waiting on God. David spoke to goliath what he will do to him. Not only that, he acted on what he said. He did not wait for Goliath to come. Scriptures say “that David hasted, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine.” (1 Samuel 17:48 KJV).

Elijah spoke to Ahab “Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain” (1 Kings 18:41 KJV). He ran ahead of Ahab’s chariot before the rain came down. Remember, there was no rain on the face of the earth for 3 years. We need to run with God’s word not relax.

You cannot be saying ”I am going to be a billionaire for God told me” yet you have never had a job to learn the ropes or have made effort to start a business. You say “I am healed from this sickness” yet you still stay in bed for many days hoping strength will come from heaven.

Act on your words. Use your body as a weapon. Get up from the bed believing you are healed. That is when the strength comes. Your action rides on the waves of the spoken word. Your words make power available. Let your action react to this power. Keep speaking God’s word and run with it.
