CONSCIOUS OF HIS PRESENCE
Let me say this as spiritual as I possibly can “what you are experiencing in your life is as a result of the pictures you have in your mind.” Your thoughts form a picture which creates boundaries in your life. Scriptures say:
Proverbs 4:23 (KJV)
23 Keep thy HEART with all diligence; FOR OUT OF IT ARE THE ISSUES OF LIFE.
God respects our decisions and will not work beyond the pictures or thoughts we have in our heart. For our lives to move with ease, we need to change the pictures we have in our hearts. Two people can hear the same information but their actions are different because of the picture they have formed in their heart. We should always have a picture of glory, of excellence and of success. Anything hindering such image should be dealt with. Anything making us think less of God or that God is not with us is a hindrance to a life of success. We must maintain that image in our hearts that was mentioned in 2 Corinthians 3:18:
18 But we all, with open face BEHOLDING AS IN A GLASS THE GLORY OF THE LORD, are CHANGED INTO THE SAME IMAGE from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
We should always have an image of glory and victory. That is what we should always be conscious of. God will work with what he sees in your heart. So give him great and grand thoughts to work with.
In the awesome story of David versus Goliath, the giant Goliath came out and challenged the army of Israel to bring out a challenger. The whole army was afraid and no one dared to come out. God’s presence was with Israel but they were not conscious of it. They just could not picture it. Once the devil gets you to be conscious of yourself rather than conscious of God, you would not see your victory. They were conscious of defeat, conscious of failure, conscious of everything that could go wrong in the battle. When you are conscious of something, it preoccupies your mind making you think and act towards that thought. Israel was preoccupied with fear and the result of such action was paralysis. Their thoughts captivated them, captured them and cause them to accept what they had in their hearts. That is why none of them could come out and face goliath.
But there was a man who had not forgotten that God was with him. His name is David. The first time David saw Goliath he spoke words that shows what was in his heart.
1 Samuel 17:26 (KJV)
26 And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, THAT HE SHOULD DEFY THE ARMIES OF THE LIVING GOD?
He was angry that even though the Almighty God is backing us up, this uncircumcised man, an unbeliever who has no backing from God is challenging us. It was an insult. Is being poor to you an insult? What about being sick? To confront any goliath you need to create great pictures in your heart. World class Christ like pictures. David in the end defeated Goliath because he had seen in his heart holding Goliath’s head even before he did it (1 Samuel 17:46). What he saw moved him to the battleground where victories are birthed compared to what the others saw that moved them to their comfort zone where fear held them down.
In Numbers 13:17-32, when Moses sent out spies to spy out the land, they came back with an evil report. The report Caleb gave was contrary to the report that the other spies gave which means that an evil report in this scripture is anything that stops you from going up to possess what is yours or to overcome. It is downright evil not to enjoy your inheritance that you have in Christ. When we go for board meetings be conscious that God is with you making your words irresistible. When you are doing your routine work day after day, be conscious that God is with you making your hands to be full of excellence. The picture that God hangs on his wall concerning you looks exactly like Christ. Anything else should be taken off the wall of your heart.
We focus too much on our abilities and that is why fear creeps in and inferiority complex. When we look at ourselves and measure ourselves with the situation, we begin to allow negative thoughts of failure to make us not achieve great things in life. Focusing too much on self will lead to defeat. But we have a new nature that does not operate on self. It operates on the savior, Christ Jesus. By him we have received Grace through which we can succeed in all we do.
Romans 5:17 (KJV)
17 For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which RECEIVE ABUNDANCE OF GRACE and of THE GIFT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS SHALL REIGN IN LIFE by one, Jesus Christ.)
We can also raise our consciousness of God through praying in the Holy Ghost. When we pray in the Holy Ghost, we are not praying to man but we are praying to God directly.
1 Corinthians 14:2 (KJV)
2 For HE THAT SPEAKETH IN AN UNKNOWN TONGUE speaketh not unto men, but UNTO GOD: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
Your spirit speaks directly to God, spirit to spirit thereby raising your spiritual awareness. It serves as a gateway through which supernatural things happen. Paul said that he speaks in tongues more than anyone else and he also said that he labored more abundantly than anyone else too. This means that speaking in tongues is linked to doing abundant work (1 Corinthians 14:18, 1 Corinthians 15:10). Did not Paul write one third of the New Testament? Praying in tongues is our devotional language and we need to pray more in it than in our understanding. This is what empowers us to set our heart always on Jesus. He said that we shall do greater works than what he did. That means that if Jesus never did something and we did it, then it is a greater work. Jesus never spoke in tongues but we do. Therefore speaking in tongues can be seen as a greater work.
Let us begin to pray and read his word continually and consistently, becoming more aware of His way and His works. God is always with you. Be conscious of his ever present help.
