One awesome truth that we need to understand is that once Jesus comes into our heart, he has come to stay. He is not a visitor, neither a tenant but our Lord and Saviour. His presence is with us wherever we go. Wherever we go, God goes. Not only that but he has promised us that he will never leave us. I love that word “Never”. Your mistakes and messes will not make God check out.
Hebrews 13:5 (KJV)
5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: FOR HE HATH SAID, I WILL NEVER LEAVE THEE, NOR FORSAKE THEE.
God is a very big God, I mean he is huge. If he is inside of us, he just cannot be hidden. How do you hide someone that is bigger than your imaginations? Can you imagine having billions of dollars in your bank account and you still live like a poor man. People will call you a fool. No more fooling and folding of hands. It is time for the almighty God to mightily show in your life with no apologies. If someone has cancer inside his body, the symptoms of the disease will begin to show sooner or later on the person’s body. So if God lives in you then all that God is, should begin to manifest in your life. God is health, God is wealth, God is love, God is righteous and God is holy. Our lives should promote the life of God.
The world should easily see God in us. The life of a believer and an unbeliever should be as clear as day and night. All those ridiculous question of are you a real believer or a genuine believer will not be needed when we make his presence tangible. Thomas the disciple did not believe that Jesus was alive until he saw him. Jesus made a statement in verse 29 of John 20. He said “Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.” This means that to see with your heart is better than to see with your eyes. Circumstances can make someone pay a good amount of money into your account but what about tomorrow or the next day. Seeing a continuous flow of income in your heart can make everyday a payday. Circumstances can make you get promoted but if you do not see yourself as someone skilled enough to do the job, you may lose it. God has given us everything to live an abundant and awesomely enriching life. DO you know what he gave us? He gave of his son. His son is everything and he lives in us. We need to see this truth and bring it out. We can do it by having a strong desire for his presence.
See what David said in Psalm 63:1:
O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: MY SOUL THIRSTETH FOR THEE, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
David was thirsty for God and this was at a time when God did not reside in man but in the temple. This was also at a time when there was no one born again. The good news now is that we no longer need to thirst or hunger for him. We have him. We are not seeking him. He has found us. He has said that anyone who believes on him will never hunger and thirst anymore.
John 6:35 (KJV)
35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me SHALL NEVER HUNGER; and he that BELIEVETH ON ME SHALL NEVER THIRST.
We are not looking for God. He lives in us. Wherever we are, he is there. Rather what we are to desire now is the word of God. We are to desire the word of God so we can know the mind of God and when we know the Mind of God then we can manifest the life of God.
1 Peter 2:2 (KJV)
2 As newborn babes, DESIRE THE SINCERE MILK OF THE WORD, that ye may grow thereby:
If you are studying for a bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, all your course work will be geared towards making you a professional in that area. You cannot take courses in engineering and expect the ability of an accountant to come out. The life of Christ does not come out without studying God’s word. Through God’s word we begin to manifest God’s ability.
The disciples manifested the life of Christ because they give themselves continually and consistently to the ministry of the word and to prayer.
Acts 6:4 (KJV)
4 But we will give ourselves CONTINUALLY TO PRAYER, AND TO THE MINISTRY OF THE WORD.
The word “ministry” literally means attendance. Give undivided attention to the word. When we read the word of God, it renews our mind so we can agree with what God has done for us and in us. The real war we fight is our minds. Whatever our mind accepts, we will see in our lives. The world is trying to make us conform into its wrong ways of doing things. The devil is trying to deceive us into believing that anyway outside Gods will is the better way. Our experiences are pushing us to make certain decisions based on what happened to us. But when we choose the word of God as first and final, renewal of the mind begins to happen. The word will stand tall and bring a transformation in our lives. When the world, the devil or our experiences do not align with the word, the word we have received will see it as a stronghold and pull it down. This is how we grow. This will happen gradually if we see the word of God as first in terms of priority and final in terms of authority over anything else.
If you are not seeing much of God in your life and you want to then renewing your mind is the solution. Renewal of the mind leads to us seeing God’s will in our lives.
Romans 12:2 (KJV)
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND, THAT YE MAY PROVE WHAT IS THAT GOOD, AND ACCEPTABLE, AND PERFECT, WILL OF GOD.
If you renew your mind with the word, it will be impossible for you to miss God’s good, acceptable and perfect will for your life. A believer’s life is a supernatural life which is birthed by a supernatural seed which is the word.
1 Peter 1:23 (KJV)
23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, BUT OF INCORRUPTIBLE, BY THE WORD OF GOD, which liveth and abideth for ever.
Someone who wants the physical which is corruptible to show the attributes of the supernatural which is incorruptible must let the word renew his mind. It is not God’s will that what he has done inside of you should stay there. It is his will that it comes out to the physical. Through the word our mind and body can partake in God’s divine nature. You cannot function as a believer without the incorruptible Word of God. Your spirit was born out of God’s word. Therefore, living by the spirit is living by the Word of God. Live from your spirit and let your mind and body begin to do supernatural things.
Someone who is addicted to alcohol will continue to drink even to his own hurting. It can affect his job, his marriage, his mind, his emotions and even his health yet he continues, because his desire for it is stronger than all other things. You see how that one action affects and influences negatively the person’s life. Now imagine what the Word of God can do.
1 Timothy 4:8:
8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: BUT GODLINESS IS PROFITABLE UNTO ALL THINGS, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
The word positively reinforces your life. Transformation in all areas of your life will be seen without a doubt. The more we renew our minds, the more of God that will flow from our spirit into our soul and body. The mind is connected to every area of our lives. Therefore a renewed mind is a radiant life. Give attention to the word. It will cover everything.
Any Child of GOD who really craves for the power of GOD to be made manifest all day, every day in his or her life must remember that the power of creation was birthed by the spoken WORD of GOD and the move of THE HOLY SPIRIT. May GOD give us an unquenchable thirst for HIS WORD, HIS POWER & HIS GLORY.
Thank you sir for this inspired piece. GOD bless you….
It’s inspiring and uplifting. One cannot amount to good success without a renewal of the mind with God’s Word. This article is a must read for any Christian that desire real change in his or her life.
Very inspiring and very true. The mind is truly the battlefield. A renewed mind is the door to victory
