As a believer, you live your life from the inside out. There must be something inside of you to bring out. Jesus said, “Out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water” (John 7:38). No one is empty inside. No one can say I have nothing to give. This is why you must have the word of God living inside of you.
In Romans 12 it talks about transformation. Transformation is an inward change. Renewal of the mind is an inside job. A caterpillar changes its body from the inside out to become a butterfly. The cocoon is not a closet where it went and wore a butterfly costume. A caterpillar digests itself from the inside out.
True transformation comes from the inside. For your body to receive nourishment, it needs food. Food does you no good until it enters into the body. God’s word will do you no good until it enters your heart.
Most people are not eating God’s word because they believe they do not have time. If you do not have time, it means you are not hungry. Someone who is hungry will never say “I do not have time.” No one on the face of the earth does not have time to eat. Jesus said, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work” (John 4:34 NIV). He is saying it is a necessity. It is non-negotiable. If you do not eat, you will die.
The word of God is full of life. It is more important than your physical food (John 6:27 KJV). When you do not read the word, do not get angry, get hungry. Change how you see God’s word. If you are hungry, you will never go days without the word.
It is only those that are hungry that will be filled. Without hunger, you will never be satisfied. The purpose of hunger is to lead you to the place of satisfaction. Are you ok with your finances? If not then you need to hunger for prosperity.
Even if you are ok, Jesus said: “…Go into all the world…” (Mark 16:15 NKJV). You need a hunger that can satisfy the whole earth. Many lives are depending on your destiny. Many people are suffering because you have not come out of the problems you are facing. Feed on God’s word, change your life so you can change others. Defeat your goliath so you can raise mighty men to defeat their goliaths.
Be On A Diet
Do not live by your needs, live based on God’s word (Matthew 4:4). I love the example the apostle Paul gave about running a race to win the crown. To win the crown you have to be temperate in all things (1 Corinthians 9:25). All things include what you eat. The best athletes have diets that help them increase their performance for victory.
As believers, we have our diet. We should feed on words of righteousness not words of unrighteousness. We should feed on Christ-centred words not words of condemnation. If you feed right, you will live right. The diet of champions is Christ-centred words.
