I have a question for you—or perhaps a question you should be asking yourself.
In the corporate world, ownership is clear: Larry Page founded Google; Jeff Bezos built Amazon. But when it relates to the very ground you walk on, who owns the earth?
If your answer is, “I am an heir and an owner,” then why are you not enjoying its vast resources? Why are you struggling financially or settling for a life of “average”?
The Great Misconception: Jesus or the World?
Scripture is clear: “The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s; but the earth He has given to the children of men” (Psalm 115:16). God did not gift the earth to the unbeliever; He gave it to the believer.
Yet, while the world prospers, many believers are content singing, “Take the whole world, but give me Jesus.” We should not be surprised when the world thrives—we essentially handed them the keys! As a believer, you were never asked to choose between spiritual salvation and earthly abundance. You were given both. Why choose Jesus and live in lack when God desires you to have Jesus and be prosperous?
Choosing to abandon the world’s resources doesn’t make you holier; it often makes you an ineffective witness. While some argue that God hasn’t called us to be rich, He certainly hasn’t called us to be poor. He gave us all of Himself—so why settle for only a fraction of His provision?
The Legal Handover and the Restoration
To enjoy what God has provided, we cannot give the enemy an inch of breathing space. In the Garden, Adam allowed the devil a foothold, and we lost our inheritance legally.
The proof of this legal transfer is seen in Luke 4 during the temptation of Jesus. The devil took Him to a high mountain, showed Him the kingdoms of the world, and offered Him “all this power” (v. 6), claiming it had been delivered to him.
But the story didn’t end there. When Jesus rose, He took back that inheritance—and He did it with authority. He declared in Matthew 28:18, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” Not some power—all power. You can no longer blame your lack of progress on “economic power” or “traditional power” from your background. You possess a power that sits infinitely above those “little things.”
Ruling the Kingdoms of This World
The world is comprised of different kingdoms: government, economics, community, technology, and more (Luke 4:5). You cannot rule in these spheres without power.
While the power has been restored to us, it is not an “automatic” process. The devil will contend for your territory, and you must forcefully resist him. Remember, this is not a battle of flesh and blood, guns or knives; it is a spiritual battle (Ephesians 6:11).
The people who come out on top are those who refuse to be intimidated.
- Health is yours: Refuse to let it be taken.
- Victory is yours: You have power over all the works of the enemy (Luke 10:19).
Overcoming Indifference and Ignorance
Success in the Kingdom requires a “holy forcefulness.” Those who are forceful know what belongs to them and take the necessary steps to secure it. This mindset eliminates the two greatest hindrances to success: indifference and ignorance.
The world is not designed to pity you; it is designed to respond to those who stand on the Word and declare, “The earth has been given to me!”
It is time to stop settling. It is time to take over.
