Knowing who you are will determine what you will achieve. If a lion that leads an army of sheep can defeat a sheep leading an army of lions then how you see yourself matters. The child of a king is no different from a servant. The only difference is that the child has tutors to teach him the ways of a king (Galatians 4:1-2). Once he realizes his kingship, the throne will not pass him by. Changing how you see yourself will change your life forever. If you want to get results then you have to see yourself as a person that gets results.
When you have conversations with people, how do speak about yourself? How you speak about yourself is the perfect determinant of how you see yourself. Well, I am just a sinner saved by grace. If that’s how you see yourself, you will keep on sinning. Those addictions and strongholds won’t go away because you still believe you are a sinner. Mr John, how are you doing? I am just managing in this tough economy. If that is how you see yourself, things will be tough.
Do you know that your life is hidden with Christ (Colossians 3:3) You are to refer to yourself based on the way God sees you. Stop speaking down on yourself because you want others to feel comfortable around you. That is why you have doubters and complainers all around you. You keep speaking doubt and keep complaining. Everyone is talking about how the weather is making people sick and you want to join them. If you do, why won’t you fall sick? Do not join the crowd. You are already joined with Christ (1 Corinthians 6:17).
Your answer to people, to situations, to anything living or non-living that talk with you should always be the new life that you have in Christ Jesus. How are you? I am blessed. Thank you for asking. Mr Mark, I am always falling sick at this time of the year. Not me! I have God’s nature. Eternal life is working in me to always be in good health. This is how we should speak.
When people speak down on themselves, they want others to follow suit but when you speak that you are seated high up with Christ in heavenly places, they will get angry. Let them get angry. You do not need faithless people around you. If evil communication corrupts good manner then good communication will eradicate bad manners. Laziness, doubt, hate, being indifferent is bad manners. Nobody likes someone that is different but they are the ones that make a difference.
Jesus was so different that people were asking, what manner of man is this (Matthew 8:27)? They wanted what he got. If you keep on speaking who you are in Christ, it won’t be long before your life will show what you are saying. Jesus said I am the resurrection and the life (John 11:25). What happened next? He raised Lazarus from the dead. When you continually say I am the righteousness of God, what will happen? You will begin to live above sin. Temptation will come and all you will say is NO! That is not who I am. When you say God is my source and supplies my every need. What will happen next? God will open doors for a mighty supply to come through to you.
