Make Your Walk With God Close and Convincing

If you ask the average believer his spiritual goals one of them will be this: “I want to be closer to God.” The good news is you can. There is no barrier stopping you from knowing God intimately. We have seen men of God who carry God’s presence in such a tangible way that we wonder “Can I be like this?” Yes, you can.

Scripture says “…for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest” (Hebrews 8:11). The ‘all’ there includes you. The least to the greatest means whatever position you are in right now, you can know God and be close to Him. Be convinced that you can.

Do Not Give Up

Imagine this, you see a lady you are interested in. You take steps to get to know her more by asking her on a date and buying her gifts. Basically, you are trying to use every tool at your disposal to spend time with her. If after all this, the lady still does not respond to your acts of love, he will probably give up and move on. Why? You are not convinced that a close relationship can be formed. The average believer is not convinced that they can have a very close walk with God so they do not bother trying. After the born again experience, they sit down and fold their hands rather than hit the ground running.

This will not be the case for you! Today, things change for you. Here is a truth you need to hear. You are as close to God as you want to be. This is where believers miss it. Your relationship with God is not a forceful one. It is a sacrificial one, founded and fueled by love. It is by choice not by clergy.

Say Yes

When Jesus was picking His 12 disciples, they had the option not to follow him. In other words, they had the power to say no and they did not. However, there was one of Jesus followers outside the twelve who wanted to bury his father first before following Him. The excuse he gave was a good one but Jesus buried the excuse by saying, “Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead”. (Matthew 8:22).

Excuses may work for the world but when it comes to God, there is no excuse good enough not to give him your all. Therefore make a choice today that the most valuable relationship you will ever have will be with Jesus and no other. Let this be number one in your list of life goals.
