Communication is very important to your success in life. You must be able to communicate things of the spirit to create the kind of world you want to live in. As believers, the communication of our faith becomes effective by “…the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.” (Philemon 1:6 KJV)

This scripture shows us two things that combine to bring results; what you believe (faith) and what you say (acknowledging). This is what will bring results. If you believe something, you will speak it out. The spirit of faith that we have believes first before it speaks (2 Corinthians 4:13 KJV).

Where most people miss it is that they speak right and their action seems right but they do not believe. Believing is the first thing you must work on. Some of you may have been praying “Lord when will I begin to see the things I have dreamed about?” You will see it once you believe that it is possible. You must have it on the inside before you can have it on the outside.

You have to overload your heart with what you believe. You need to fill your heart with what you want till it is overflowing. The overflow will come out of your mouth. It is “…out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.” (Matthew 12:34 KJV) Your heart must be heavy for your words to carry weight.

If there are certain things in life that you want but you are not speaking constantly about it.  It is simply because you do not believe it. Look at the story of Zachariah. An angel told him that he will have a child. He replied in unbelief: “…Do you expect me to believe this? I’m an old man and my wife is an old woman” (Luke 1:18 MSG). The angel made him dumb and this is the reason why; he did not believe what the angel said. So he was dumb because he did not believe.

To be dumb means unable or unwilling to speak. If you are unable to speak consistently what you really want in the presence of family or friends or strangers or enemies then you just do not believe what you think you believe. That’s the test to check if you believe. You can change any negative narrative when you are willing to rewire your mind to believe. There are things that matter in shaping what you believe.

Focus Matters

All Zechariah could see all around him was how it is impossible for him and his wife to have a child. He focused on the natural ways things are done. As a result, when the supernatural came, he could not recognize or agree with it. Focus on the supernatural.

Do you know the bible is full of the supernatural? Have you been so focused on the natural way of doing things that you give little attention to God’s word? God’s word is supernatural. When you read God’s word and fill your heart with it, the supernatural happens. Jesus said, “…the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life” (John 6:63). If your bible is falling apart, your life won’t. What this means is that out of constant use, your bible wears out but you will be intact.

Words Matter

What you say matters. The angel that spoke to Zachariah had the last words. Always have the last words. It is not just people that speak. Situations speak; circumstances speak, environment speaks; the devil speaks; your body speaks. So end your words with God’s promises. Do not allow anything negative have the last say in your life. Your bank account says you are broke and you are keeping quiet. You will remain broke.

Sometimes you may say things you never expected to say and you do not want it to become a reality. As a principle end your words with God’s promises. Someone way say “Everybody is losing their job because of the situation now” and you reply “It’s true.” Do not stop there or you will be the next victim of joblessness. Rather reply “It’s true but God is my source, I will not lose mine.” This is vital in getting victories. David had the last words against Goliath. (1 Samuel 17:45-47) Between both of them who won? David did.

Response Matters

An angel appeared to Zachariah and his reply was “This cannot happen” but when it came to Mary her reply was “let it happen.” We are to respond to God’s truth positively. When you do so you are in faith. You enter the realm of possibilities. Do not hesitate. Do not allow doubt with its many voices make you think otherwise. One voice matters, God’s voice.

Respond to the word like there is no other option; there is no other path except God’s way (John14:6). Mary knew there is no other way of giving birth without a man if God is not involved. Never forgot God’s way is the only path to victory.
