One powerful bond between a father and a son is blood. This cannot be changed. A father can say to his son “I disown you” but that cannot change the fact that he is still biologically your son. Nothing can change that. Not even a blood transfusion. It is a nature thing. In John 14:6, Jesus said….I am the way, the truth, and the life: NO MAN COMETH UNTO THE FATHER, BUT BY ME. Jesus emphasized that concerning being part of this kingdom, concerning being born again, it is a family affair. For you to be part of the family, you have to go through him.
When we become born again, we receive God’s nature and he now becomes our Father. Jesus is now our blood brother. Jesus put a lot of emphasis in introducing God as our Father. It was a top priority for him. One paramount reason is so that we all can have a solid and sound view of who God is. Jesus knew this. He knew that we cannot trust God or even have a healthy relationship with him if we do not see him as our Father. Religion sets in when we remove “father” from the picture.
The word “Father” encompasses all that God is. Protection, Provision, purpose, power and a lot more are in this name. You do not have to feel that God is angry with you. You do not have to feel sad as if God is no longer supporting you. Why you may ask? You’re a child of the most high God. There is no disowning in this new covenant. All that the father has, you have as well. This is what they call inheritance. Upon all the wrong things the 2nd son did in Luke 15:11-32, the father saw him, ran to him and kissed him. This shows the love of a Father that goes beyond our wrongs, looking for every avenue to bless us. If not for his father, the 2nd son would have lived a life worst than a slave. But because he has a father he lived like a son of a King.
Generally speaking, the lifestyle of a child is usually based on the provision of the father. If the father is poor then the children will act and live poor. If rich then the children will behave rich and live like it. Have you seen a person who does not have a job yet they will call him rich only because his father is rich. Our father is the King of kings. So naturally, we ought to live as kings.
Knowing what it means for God to be our Father will give you every reason to trust him. All those excuses and reasons for not moving forward, kiss them goodbye. Romans 5:8-11 shows us that when we were against God, it did not stop him from helping us. But now we are for him, much more will he help us. Wow! There is absolutely no reason why you should not succeed. If people say “It looks like you would not get that job you want”. You give them all the reasons why you will, on the unbreakable truth that you have a father who wants the best for you.
Based on the doctrine of TRINITY I would have thought that Jesus is not our blood brother but also our Father. That is to say God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost are one not three.
The Bible clearly presents Jesus Christ as being one with the Father (John 10:30). God in the person of Jesus is still the Only Son of God the Father. So, it is right to call Him God and Saviour (Jude 25). However, Jesus is referred to as our brother in Hebrews 2:11.
Hebrews 2:11 (KJV)
11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
The word brethren (which also means brothers) used here is translated blood relative. The scripture is showing us how God who is perfect can call us who are imperfect his brothers.
Through our faith in Jesus, God the Father allows us the honor of being brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus.
