You Are Never Without Help

Believers hear this, scripture tells us to live without murmuring, complaining and fighting among ourselves. It even emphasizes that we should be cheerful and full of joy though we live in a crooked, brutal and perverse world (Philippians 2:14-15).

How can we do this? What benefit is there for us to live this way? A rich man has a certain way he lives. A poor man as well has a certain way he lives. A rich man would never like to live like a poor man but a poor man would like to live like a rich man. One reason is that a rich man’s life looks like a life without lack. A poor man’s life is a life of helplessness.

You have a higher life now. You are to show people the good life as well as the reality of having a living God. Joseph never complained despite all he went through. Complaints promote helplessness. It will make you feel good at the moment but if you continue with such a lifestyle, you will begin to feel powerless to address things that are happening around you. Those who have God should never say they are helpless. Joseph did that.

Joseph never looked helpless because he never complained. He was more conscious of God than the pit and the prison. That is why Potiphar saw that God was with him (Genesis 39:2-3). Whatever you are more conscious of, that is how you will live. Are you more conscious of all the hellish things happening around you or the heavenly opportunities God has put in your way? Do not do things because they feel good. Do things that produce good even if it feels horrible at the time.

“You have a higher life…” It can’t be truer than this for the believer.

An interesting & instructional piece!
